What our residents & their families think:
Quotes from residents’ families
When we as a family were looking for a new care home for dad it was very important to try and find somewhere that would 1. encourage and facility dad with interaction and independence when he was good 2. Notice and take appropriate action when he was unwell and finally thinking ahead somewhere we felt would be able to provide the level of end of life care we would want for dad and support for mum. The care dad has received at Wells Springs has surpassed our high expectations, he has enjoyed the last 9 months to the limits of his ability and this has been enabled and facilitated by the brilliant care and staff in the home. The memories we have of dad are of lunch in the sun in the garden by the pond, lunch at Harry Ramsdens which he looked forward to for weeks (dad always liked something to look forward to) him singing/ howling along to music in the lounge. We cannot thank you enough for helping us and enabling us all to enjoy our time with dad as we have, and looking after him mum and us in his final days. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Maria, Val, Chris and Sean Dooley and families.

Care with dignity
Probably one of the most difficult decisions in life arises when a loved one needs to move into residential care. The best thing about Well Springs Nursing Home is the staff. They care for the residents with infinite patience and dignity thus ensuring a happy, homely environment. Everyone is very welcoming – it is lovely to see residents and visitors greeted by name and with a smile! The decor is well maintained with lovely bedrooms which residents are encouraged to personalize and many a visit has been enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden. Having made regular visits to see my mother, a resident since 2010, and seen the loving care provided, there is no doubt that Well Springs was the right choice for her.

Support for my friend
My friend has been resident here since April 2012, and I would like to say that through all this time I have been very impressed with all the staff at this home. Their attitude, genuine care and compassion, and support have been extraordinary. Not just to my friend, but also to his now late wife. The support they gave her was unbelievable. Like an extended family!

Gold Standard Care
After looking at over 20 care homes and having personal experience of 4, I feel I can say that Well Springs provides exemplary person-centered care. My dad has been shown the highest level of dignity and respect and I have observed the care and encouragement given to him and other residents. All staff seem well trained, kind, caring and have a can do / nothing is too much trouble attitude. There is a full activities programme and the encouragement of residents to participate at an appropriate level. I only wish every person entering a care home could live somewhere with the standards of Well Springs.

Dear friends of Wellsprings
We think it is about time we shared our appreciation for the love, care and happiness you give our Dad, Grandad and great Grandad. Gordon went into your care almost 5 years ago when his wife fell critically ill and sadly passed away within days of him coming to stay with you. Due to his bereavement and sadness and because he was unable to communicate following a severe stroke which left him with aphasia, he tended to stay in his own room. He’d lost his sense of humor and sparkle for everything he loved in life. Looking back, you really did welcome him into his new home with cuddles and affection and although we all said between ourselves that he was settling and the staff at Wellsprings are looking after him, we have never, in almost 5 years, told you so.
We just want to take a few minutes of you time to tell you how well-groomed we find him when we visit. His room is always clean and tidy. Each and every one of us have said that from observing, the interaction you have with him is a pleasure to see. the jokes you have with him, despite most people being unable to understand him, including us, you do understand him and you do bring out his sense of humor. It’s lovely to see him smiling when we go and when we leave. There is always a number of staff in the day room, caring, attending, listening, doing jigsaw’s etc. with the other patients. He loves his food, so compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff. He looks pretty handsome for an 83-year-old.
Gordon is a religious man and has a strong faith. You truly are the angels that were sent to care for him the day we lost our Mum, his loving wife and carer and you are all appreciated for the dedicated and hard work you do.
Sent with all our love
Gordon’s family x

My Mother, a terminal cancer sufferer moved to Well Springs Nursing Home in January. She had a beautiful en-suite room with a fabulous outlook into the garden which she loved.
The staff were and are exceptional, from the nursing staff to the carers nothing was too much for them and not just in basic health and care needs, which one would expect, but in spending time just talking and comforting her and they made all our family so welcome every day we visited no matter what the time.
We cannot speak highly enough of the care my Mother received, and she herself always told me how wonderful they all were looking after her. We would recommend Well Springs to anyone who has to make the difficult decision of finding residential nursing care for a loved one.
