Our history

Built in the late 1800s, our beautiful Victorian premises now provide modern nursing facilities.

Our history

Built in the late 1800s, the Victorian building was once home to a famous wool manufacturer, who owned land throughout Heaton.

In 1984, the magnificent and historic house was opened as a care home. In 2006, Well Springs was purchased by the current owner and underwent a comprehensive refurbishment. This allowed Well Springs to grow in reputation and quality.

Since 1986, there have been two extensions, resulting in an overall capacity of 63 bedrooms, with multiple communal spaces and lounges, including a sun room. Some of our senior staff have been with us for almost all of this time, which in our view perfectly evidences the family-based approach we bring to the home we so dearly love.
